There are different types of challenges; spastics, autism, mental disability, physical disability, blind, deaf and dumb etc are some among them…. others being disabled due to accidents other natural and man-made calamities. When we look at the plight of these people, it is highly sympathetic… heartbreaking. As each person with physical challenges will have different problems, their rehabilitation methods will also differ. It is clear from statistics that the people who require rehabilitation are huge. We are not seeing most of them because they are not coming out of their houses…so sad that they cannot.

      We took it as our social responsibility in seeing that more people with physical challenges get mobility at least inside the house. It is very challenging to design a cost-effective but high quality powered wheelchair since most of the people cannot afford. With state of the art technology, using commonly available and proven parts and components, feedback from customers, learning from experts, doctors etc.

Freedom of Mobility
       Ostrich Mobility Instruments formed is dedicated to manufacture electric mobility equipments after seeing and understanding the pathetic situation of physically challenged people, irrespective of rich or poor, who are left alone at one corner of the house with out proper attention. Mobility is not even in their dreams; leave alone some people who had manual wheel chairs but need an attendantWhen they started moving by themselves with the powered wheel chairs designed for them, we have seen the happiness of those people, Un imaginable was our experience…our excitement, happiness and satisfaction were sky high, the parents of children are so happy to see that their kids with physical challenges could move around themselves. The kids started exploring their house; they started learning more, understanding more (quoting the experience of parents who have kids with cerebral palsy using powered wheel chair designed by us). In a country like India, we understand the relevance of such a product.

Old Age
This is another area where we are trying to put our effort. In India, health consciousness is very poor particularly in the old age. We are people who walk till we fall down and then suffer the consequences.

We take it as our responsibility to give awareness of maintaining good health at the old age particularly the advantage of using mobility equipments, partly for their mobility. We have plans to start the awareness programmes soon right from schools.

We request those people who read this to become a part of the activities by guiding us in the right path, helping us physically, financially or by giving any sort of valuable information to see that people in India as well as the people all over the world enjoy the freedom of mobility. Companies can take up such projects as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
This is not the end of our research and development. Our aim is total independence. Just imagine the situation of a physically challenged when nature calls. We have plans to design a fully automatic toilet attached wheelchair, which have facility to clean the body; always keeping the price in mind to be as low as possible.

Remember, a physically challenged just need a helping hand and not a permanent help, they need consolation and not sympathy.
